A downloadable soundtrack

This page shows my entries to the Alternative Soundtrack jams.

Alternative Soundtrack #2

I have loved the Animal Crossing series for a while now and have gotten very used to the kind of songs that they made: simple, calm, with a decent beat. In other words, songs you can loop for a long while in the background! I wanted to try my hands on making such a soundtrack, so I made 3 songs in total. I wasn't aware you were supposed to only make 1 song, so I concatenated them and tried to stay within the 3 minute mark.

Alternative Soundtrack #4

This is my first time trying out the Logic Pro software. Coming from MuseScore3, this software contains so many extra features. I spend my free time of the past two weeks almost solely on reading up on all that this software offers. This song contains:

  • Synths (ES1 and Alchemy);
  • Horns with manual Articulation;
  • Low-pass filter, changing over time using automation;
  • Sound effects (bubbles, reverse cymbal, cymbal);
  • Synth cutoff also changing over time using automation;
  • A Compression effect to balance the volume over the track;
  • A Limiter to prevent the track from becoming too loud;

And probably more that I forgot! To match the theme of the game, I made the song simple and in 4/4, while using low-pass filters and bubble sounds to incorporate the water-y elements. I like what I made, but also feel happy that I can move on to another song ;)

PS: because I no longer use Musescore3, I might also stop publishing my sheet music. That is, unless I find a way to publish the score from Logic Pro.
