Tune Jam #1:

I missed this one :(

Tune Jam #2:

Here is my entry, "Fear Can Kill"! I got inspiration from a lot of sources:

  • M&L PiT - Toadwood Forest + M&L PiT - Shroob Attack: the sustained strings at the start were inspired by these songs. Since I've heard them, I've tried it loads of times!
  • M&L PiT - Final Battle: the instruments (horn in F, Timpani, Strings, Kazoo) were taken from this song. Also, the Brass Synth and beat/rhythm were taken from M&L PiT - Princess Shroob Battle. The ticking of the Hi-Hat was from Pokemon DP - Ghiratina Battle.
  • Various elements such as the sudden silences and repeated piano notes in the middle transition (which kinda resembles one of those panic songs from Phoenix Wright, I noticed!) I learned over time.

Besides using a plethora of references, I have also spent a significant amount of time "mastering" this piece, tuning the individual volumes, and making it sound great! I normally don't do this, but it can make a world of difference. That's why I like that I got the time for this.

Spring Tune Jam 2024:

Name: From Forest To Forge

This is one of my first attempts at telling a story through music.
It starts calm, with the flute, banjo and congas giving the feeling of a serene forest or grass area. However, soon it appears... that it is just not enough. A sound is missing... Luckily, the sound of clanging metal fills up that void! They sing the theme together. However, the metal seems to become more dominant and depressing, from major to minor, slowly smothering the flute until metal is all that is left. And in the end, when nothing but metal remains, it sings the same theme but from a minor and rigid view...
